NAWIC Block Kids Program: Inspiring the Next Generation
For many years, the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) has prioritized reaching and educating the next generation of potential construction workers. A key focus is breaking common stereotypes about women in the industry by introducing youth to diverse career opportunities in construction.
To support this mission, NAWIC’s Education Foundation created the Block Kids Program. This initiative introduces elementary school children (grades K-6) to the construction industry, sparking awareness and interest in future careers across its many fields.
Through Block Kids, NAWIC fosters early enthusiasm for construction while promoting inclusivity and challenging gender norms in the field. It’s a powerful way to build the future workforce—one block at a time!
